Women’s Professional Soccer announced Monday the names of 14 players who will serve as reserves for the league’s upcoming All-Star Game presented by the US Coast Guard Reserve June 30 at Kennesaw State University Stadium in Kennesaw, GA, home to the expansion Atlanta Beat.

Through voting by players, coaches, general managers and the media, 22 players were recently named as starters for the game, which will feature a unique format this season.

Abby Wambach of the Washington Freedom and Marta of FC Gold Pride, who were the top two vote-getters, have been named captains of teams in the game and will choose their starting 11 stars in a playground pick-em format before the game takes place.

The selected reserves will be assigned to teams as a later date.
