The Ottawa Fury of the United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League named Carl Valentine as the team’s new head coach Friday.

Valentine replaces Stephen O’Kane, who resigned for family reasons after two seasons with the franchise.

Valentine played for the original Vancouver Whitecaps in the first North American Soccer League and the Vancouver 86ers, later renamed Whitecaps, in USL First Division. He also served as head coach of the 86ers/Whitecaps from 1994-99 and amassed a record of 80 wins and 75 losses with no draws.
