- Will face the defending USL1 champion Vancouver Whitecaps in USL Championship Series
Martin Rennie, Carolina RailHawks
- Former head coach of Cleveland City Stars, then in USL Second Division; lead them to 2007 championship
- RailHawks finished 16-7-7
- Third-best offense in league (43 goals scored), tied with Portland for best defense (19 goals allowed)
Gavin Wilkinson, Portland Timbers
- Led a worst-to-first turnaround
- 16-4-10 overall
- Led USL1 in offense (45 goals scored), tied with Carolina for best defense (19 goals allowed)
- Had a league-record 24-game unbeaten streak this season
USL will announce the finalists for its Rookie of the Year award Wednesday and its Most Valuable Player award Thursday.
