The search for a new head coach for Major League Soccer’s Toronto FC began Tuesday with the team announcing they would not be renewing the contract of interim head coach Chris Cummings.

Cummings was hired May 5, 2008 as an assistant coach to former head coach Mo Johnston, who now is in a front office position, and was elevated to the interim position April 29 when Johnston resigned to move upstairs.
Toronto FC was 8-9-7 with Cummings at the helm.
