After over four months as the top men’s soccer team in the world, Brazil handed over that spot to Spain in the latest monthly FIFA/Coca-Cola World Soccer Rankings, announced Friday.

The Netherlands and Italy held firm to their third and fourth place spots in the top ten with Portugal surging five spots from tenth to fifth.
Germany dipped one place to sixth, France climbed two spots to seventh, and Argentina, England and Croatia all fell two spots to eighth through tenth, respectively.
The United States fell three places from 11th to 14th in the November poll.
The final poll for 2009 will be announced December 16.
