The Portland Timbers of the United Soccer Leagues First Division announced Friday Jim Rilatt, an assistant coach for the team since 2007, will remain head coach of the Portland Timbers U23s in the USL Premier Development League.

Rilatt led the expansion franchise to an 11-3-2 record with 35 points and earned a playoff spot after finishing second in the 10-team Western Conference, Northwest Division. The Timbers U23s led the PDL in goals scored last season with 43.
