Padilla Brace Leads Chivas To Shutout Of Revs

Jesus Padilla had a pair of goals and Justin Braun scored a goal and assisted on a Blair Gavin goal as Chivas USA extended their winning streak to three games as they shut out the New England Revolution 4-0 in Major League Soccer play Wednesday at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA.

Chivas is now 3-3-1 with 10 points and in a three-way tie for second place in the Western Conference standings with the Houston Dynamo and the Colorado Rapids, both boasting similar records and all being nine points behind the Los Angeles Galaxy, MLS’ best team and the Western leader, at 6-0-1 with 19. Chivas plays next at Houston Sunday.

The Revolution are 2-4-1 with seven points and tied for fourth place in the Eastern Conference with the Kansas City Wizards (2-3-1), one point behind the Chicago Fire (2-2-2) and the Columbus Crew, tied for second with eight points and seven points behind the conference-leading New York Red Bulls (5-1-0, 15). New England is at the Crew Saturday.
