The expansion Louisville Lightning defeated the defending Professional Arena Soccer League Eastern Division champion 1790 Cincinnati Express 8-5 Friday before a record crowd of 1,547 at Mockingbird Valley Soccer Club in Louisville, KY for the first time this season.

The Express retain the top spot in the division at 10-3 and travel to the St. Louis Illusion Saturday.
The Lightning, in second place at 9-5, are now off until this Friday, when they host the Ohio Vortex, another expansion team this season.
