The defending United Soccer Leagues First Division champion Montreal Impact announced Friday they have signed head coach to a contract through the end of the 2011 season.

The Impact, who beat the Vancouver Whitecaps in an all-Canadian USL1 championship game in the 2009 season, are set, along with Vancouver and several other teams, to start a new second-level professional outdoor soccer league in April 2010.

Dos Santos led the Impact to a 12-8-6 season this record and their third league title in team history.
