The Montreal Impact of the USSF Division 2 Pro League announced Thursday talks to sign Italian defender Stefano Pescali to a contract for the 2011 season have ended and he will return to his country when the international transfer window opens July 15.
He joined the team in 2008 after getting a tryout while the Impact were in Italy on a traning camp trip.
He played in 39 career games with Montreal, scoring two goals, both coming in 2009.
Pescali has been limited to playing in one game this season, due to an ankle and toe injury.
