Galaxy To Host Dynamo For Western Conference Championship

The Los Angeles Galaxy will host the Houston Dynamo at The Home Depot Center in Carson, CA Friday night for Major League Soccer’s Western Conference championship and the right to play in MLS Cup 2009 November 22 at Qwest Field in Seattle, WA.

Both teams advanced to the one-game final after winning their respective two-game, aggregate-goal semifinal matchups Sunday.

Brian Ching scored the lone goal unassisted for Houston in the 96th minute as the Dynamo won their second game and the overall series with the Seattle Sounders by a 1-0 aggregate score.

In Los Angeles, tied 2-2 on aggregate entering the game, Landon Donovan drove a penalty kick into the back of the net in the 73rd minute as the Galaxy won their game against Chivas USA, 1-0, and the aggregate series, 3-2.

On Saturday, the Chicago Fire will host Real Salt Lake for the Eastern Conference championship at Toyota Field in Bridgeview, IL.
