The National Soccer Hall of Fame Thursday announced former US Men’s National Team players Preki and Thomas Dooley will make up the Class of 2010 to be inducted at a later date.

Dooley, in his first year of eligibility, was named on 83 of 117 ballots, while Preki’s name made it on 80 ballots.

Dooley, US Soccer’s 1993 Male Player of the Year, is one of five USMNT players in the modern era to start every game in consecutive FIFA World Cups, doing so in 1994 and 1998. In 81 appearances for the USMNT, he scored seven goals.

Preki is the only player in Major League Soccer history to start each of the first eight All-Star Games. He retired from the game as the league’s all-time leading point scorer and is the first player in league history to have five 10-goal, 10-assist seasons. In 28 games for the USMNT, he had four goals.
