FC Gold Pride of Women’s Professional Soccer acquired the services of Camile Abily and draft picks from the league’s defending regular season champion Los Angeles Sol in exchange for releasing Tina DiMartino and receiving draft picks Friday, a week before their second annual draft takes place in Philadelphia.
The Pride now get the 20th overall pick in the draft while the Sol get the 14th overall pick and the rights to one of the Pride’s 2009 International Discovery Players.
Abily has eight goals and one assist in 18 games for the Sol in the league’s inuagural season. She finished second in the league in goals behind Washington Freedom star Abby Wambach.
She was named to the 2009 WPS All-Star Team but could not play in the all-star game because of commitments with France’s national women’s team.
Abily is currently on loan to Paris-Saint Germain in her native country.
