Emerson Umana’s game-winning goal in the 56th minute allowed Mexico’s Metapan to play spoiler and win its only game in Group A play of the 2009-10 CONCACAF Champions League Wednesday by edging the Houston Dynamo of Major League Soccer, 3-2, in Mexico.
Metapan, who finished in last place at 1-5-0 with three points, took a quick 2-0 lead as Elias Montes and Anel Canales scored goals in the seventh and eighth minutes, respectively.
Houston then cut the lead in the 28th minute off a Geoff Cameron goal, then goalkeeper Tally Hall fired a shot in the opponents’ net prior to halftime.
The Dynamo finished Group A play in third place at 2-3-1 with seven points.
