Los Angeles Galaxy forward Landon Donovan, now under loan to Everton of the English Premier League through March 13, has told The Associated Press he might not return to Major League Soccer once his loan ends.
“If I look back after 10 weeks and say I really want to stay, then maybe I can make that happen,” Donovan said.
Donovan could mirror what happened last year between the Galaxy and midfielder David Beckham, who demanded (and got) his loan to AC Milan in Italy’s Serie A extended, causing him to miss the first four months of the 2009 MLS season.
