Shannon Boxx assisted Eniola Aluka on goals in the 40th and 62nd minutes as the host St. Louis Athletica opened their 2010 Women’s Professional Soccer season with a 2-0 win over FC Gold Pride at the Anheuser-Busch Soccer Park in Fenton, MO.
The Athletica next travel to Toyota Field in Bridgeview, IL to meet the Chicago Red Stars this Saturday and the Pride challenge the defending WPS champion Sky Blue FC at Rutgers University the same day.
